Loretta Ellsworth

Loretta Ellsworth is the author of the adult novel STARS OVER CLEAR LAKE (St. Martin's Press, 2017), and four novels for younger readers: SHROUDING WOMAN (Henry Holt), IN SEARCH OF MOCKINGBIRD (Henry Holt), IN A HEARTBEAT (Walker), and UNFORGETTABLE (Walker). Her books have won awards such as the Teen’s Top Ten Finalist, Midwest Bookseller’s Choice Honor Award, Midwest Connections Spring/Summer Selection, YALSA Best Book for Young Adult Nominee, CYBIL nominee, young adult, IRA Notable, New York Library List of Books for the Teen Age, 2010 Charlotte Award Nominee, New York State Book Award\nTAYSHAS High School Reading List (Texas Library Association), Rebecca Caudill Nominee,BBCB Choice, Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books, Amelia Bloomer Project List for Recommended Feminist Books, ALAN Pick, 2014 New Hampshire Isinglass Teen Read Award, Kirkus Critic’s Pick, and the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award Winner in Children’s Literature.\nShe earned her Master's Degree in Writing for Children from Hamline University, and is a former teacher.
